Multi Page Content

 

Module Function:
This is a new DotNetNuke® module, that is able to show multiple pages of content inside a single module. The pages are normal Text/HTML pages that can be edited in a normal form text area box, or with the WYSIWYG graphical editor (free text editor) which comes bundled with your installation.

URL to Module:

The module provides access to the multiple pages using vertical or horizontal list of index links, and using a standard next - previous command bar. The navigation indexes are build dynamically, and the edit options screen provides you with control over their layout. You are able to select if you want hide or show any of the navigation items, if they should be shown over, under, at the left, or at the right side of the page content.

 

The page content module is designed to work with the search module, so content written in any of the pages can be searched. One little catch is that the search engine is only able to link to the module, so the first page will be shown and the user needs to navigate to the correct page.

 

The module has a site wide option where the user can select to see all the content from all pages within the module as a single page. The selection is stored in a cookie, so the preference is preserved between visits

 

Calendar for Business:

This is the advanced Calendar with professional features to allow your users to easily see the events you want to feature on your site. The main features are:

  • Support for Recurring Events
  • Create Events that span multiple days, weeks, even months. IE: Every 3 Days until 6/3/2004.
  • Create Events that repeat on a certain days of the month. IE: Every 15th of the month.
  • Create events that can occur every ()() of the month.  IE: Every 2nd Tuesday of the month.
  • Create Events that repeat every year on a specific date. ie: Every Year on Jan 1st.

Document Exchange
Document Exchange is a document management module for DotNetNuke. It allows its users to save and organize files in their portal and finely tune access to these files. The extensibility of this system makes it wellsuited as a basis for custom applications that demand safe and flexible document storage.

Advanced Downloads
Downloads allows you to provide downloads for your visitors. We have fixed the security issues, combined the functionality into a smaller package, and most importantly, we have added document and document chain subscriptions. Now when you check out a document only you or the admin (or tab admin) can check them back in, anonymous users can only view documents, and only users with edit permissions can add/checkout documents.

The subscription service allows the user to subscribe to a document (as many as they want) or a chain of documents (the module). If you subscribe to a document, you will be e-mailed whenever that document is updated (checked in) or archived. If you subscribe to the chain of documents (the module) you receive email when any document in that chain is updated, archived, or added.

Classifieds

This module displays in a Classifieds view the results submitted from a selected instance of Form Creator. You need to use it in conjunction with Form Creator. Form Creator and FC Classifieds create a winning combination for a Postboard solution for your portal.

Overview:

  • View permissions of all items for each work flow thread are controlled by the “Work Admin”

Media maker is Robert's Fantastic Media module to make our site into a TV station. This is a very nice Media Player 9 embedded Movie and Music distribution module.

 

Movie & Music module including an embedded media player with a list of movies or music, including a thumbnail, title, category, and download link. The viewer can choose to watch/lessen to the video/music in the browser (embedded), watch/lessen to the video/music in their media player, or download the video/music. It's the users choice how they get it.


This module will take a lot out of the server can easily take you beyond your allowed monthly File transfer, so you should deposit your files on another free web space offered by other companies and that way your portal is free to serve just the bare essentials.

News Articles

Here is another one of Tom's masterpieces in delivering the latest Technology in News Delivery and Presentation.

This is a basic News Article module. You can choose from three image sizes, change image position from left to right, display Title, Author, and Article content. You can choose between HTML WYSIWYG of Plain Text editing, the Expression Date is now Optional, and Expandable Article Content (i.e. the article displays a headline by default, then when you click "Read More..." the whole article will be displayed).

If you chose the "Authorization" version there is a built in authorization feature. If a user has edit rights (but is not a tab admin/admin), when they add or edit a news article, the article is added/updated, but it is not visible to the public. However, Tab Admin and Admin roles can see and authorize the content. Once authorized, the article becomes visible.

News Feeds (ROSS)

News Feed allows you to consume syndicated news feeds in Rich Site Summary (ROSS) format. This is really for advanced users and we will have some documentation to teach you how to use it.

Newsletter Module
This module will allow you create/manage role-based newsletters, allowing your users to view it through the portal and/or subscribe to it and receive it by email.  The module is broken down into four separate (but integrated) modules - meaning that separate security roles can manage different functions:

  • Newsletter Admin - create/manage newsletter categories, newsletters, templates; emailing, previewing, and tracking also in this module
  • Subscriber Admin - manage your portal users' subscriptions to newsletter categories; allows you to “override“ a categories security role access for a user
  • Subscriber User - allows your portal users to view the newsletter through the portal and/or subscribe to newsletter categories in their security role
  • Recycle Bin - restore deleted newsletter categories, newsletters, templates; also can restore a previous version of a “versioned“ newsletter

Main Features:

  • Asynchronous (multi-threaded) emailing of newsletter - no web server timeouts; continue working with your portal as emails are sent
  • Admin receives a status email after newsletter is sent stating how many email recipients the newsletter was sent to
  • Multiple send options - send newsletter to subscribers, portal role, pasted list; it will not send duplicate emails to a user; attachments available too
